The Pro men and women's race was only one lap. Cat 1's did two. Go figure. Heat, not mud, was a factor this year.
The new trend for hot-weather races is to let your jersey flap in the wind. Over half the men's field was a perfect advertisement for heart-rate monitors. Twenty-year-old Kendal Johnson came up from SLO to race.
