From: Harlan Price

At the Curse of Dark Hollow, the second race of the East Coasts toughest endurance series, Harlan Price (Independent Fabrication) pulled off a career ride to defeat National Champion Chris Eatough (Trek/VW) by 7 minutes in 5hr 23min on the 100K course. Price and Eatough were joined by Brandon Dragaulis (Cannondale/ Bear Naked) and Mike Keefer (Gettysburg Bicycle) on the podium. In the rock strewn course Eatough lost contact with Price early in the day when he had to tighten a stem bolt and was unable to close a one minute gap that continued to grow as the sun climbed higher.

Cheryl Sorenson (Trek/VW) topped the women's podium with a time of 7hrs 41min. 48min back was VisitPA's Michell Snyder and following her was Stephanie Stago at 10hrs24min. Those were the only three women to complete the course.

Taking Single Speed first place was 2005 SS World Champion Brian "Buck" Keich (Independent Fabrication) in 6hrs 43min. Rounding out the podium was Jamie Huber and Topher Valenti.
The Michaux State Forest, Gettysburg Bicycle and Trek Bicycles played host to the grueling 62 mile single lap race through the forests north of Gettysburg Pennsylvania. For those who are addicted to the terrain of Michaux but were not willing to spent all day on the bike there were 25mile and 10mile options. Known for it's rocks and rugged single-track, many racers in the area opted for the smoother course of a competing series which accidentally scheduled a race for the same day. Those who made the trip to Michaux were treated to the physical and mental challenge Gettysburg Bicycle creates with their course design. To soften the blow Gettysburg Bicycle had well stocked aid stations, a dinner the night before, breakfast the morning of and food after the race.

The series final race, The Terror of Teaberry, will be held on September 16th. Last year's winner Jeremiah Bishop said, "I loved it but it was the hardest race mile for mile I have ever done." For 2007 the promoters are adding ten miles to the Terror to keep with the new 50 miler format. Race promoter Jes Stith sends out the challenge to those searching for a course that will test their technical skills more than any other. www.racemichaux.com
