A MORE TECHNICAL 2008 OLYMPIC COURSE
Two International Cycling Union experts were just in Beijing to finalize the technical aspects of the mountain bike course at this year’s Olympic Games.

Mountain Bike Sports Coordinator Peter Van den Abeele, who was in Beijing with 4-Cross Designer Phil Saxena, said the new circuit would be more technical and physical than the circuit that riders encountered during the test event in September 2007.

Five new sections have been built and five other sections have become more technical. According to Peter Van den Abeele, the Organizing Committee for the Beijing Olympic Games (BOCOG) had already made an excellent impression at the test event and the infrastructures at the site are excellent. Cameras have been fixed along the course by Beijing Olympic Broadcasting and BOCOG to ensure the diffusion of excellent images.
