Grass start: At Vail Lake racers start under shade in the park next to the pools.

8 styles: The drop down to the finish was challenging. This is the right way...

...this is a painful way...

...the throw it away early style...

...the Euro way...

...the human tripod method...

...one of the more exciting ways...

...the Superman way...

...the Barstow to Vegas way. (Just cut the course....)

Mainstay: Cal Coast/Schreiber Framing's David Stowell is the typical dyed-in-the-wool SoCal Norba Master.
Vail Lake racersandchasers' promoter Robert Herber here. A HUGE thanks goes out to all that were involved with the recent March of Dimes Mountain Bike Race. Whether you helped out with the race or raced in it, we appreciate what you have done in helping raise $3500.00 for the March of Dimes Charity. Without the support of everyone from the March of Dimes staff...to the Enterprise staff that stood out in the hills in the heat to hand off water bottles to the thirsty racers...the Farmers crew...to everyone else...we say thanks!
It was also great to see Rich and Gary Houseman's parents out racing. Richard and Char Houseman aren't just Little Legue parents for National Champion children; they help announce, promote and organize races. They ride too, and they do it because they love mountain bikes!
It was a perfect day with weather really helping us out and not getting too hot until after the race and after the sprinklers had finished misting the heat. Following are the Top 10 photos by Erich Herber. If you don't see your's, there are more on http://picasaweb.google.com/RacersAndChasers
We have not settled on the exact early October date of the next Racers and Chasers event. October is a busy month for cycling competitions, and we will notify you immediately as soon as a free day is selected.

Robert at this very moment is driving around the country on a promotional tour for Intense, offering demo's on the 2009 Tracer.
