Can We Talk About Money for a Second? Events like TransRockies are a major investment for our participants and, every year, we work hard to keep prices affordable while packing huge value into the every facet of the experience.  Like they would when making other major purchases, we know that our participants compare our pricing and value against the other major stage races to see what the real costs are and who seems to be offering the best price.

We thought we'd take some of the guesswork out of things for you by comparing our 2010 package pricing to the "B" race--that other big stage race in Western Canada.  A TransRockies team entry costs $1850 per person and that fee includes all meals and our legendary full-spectrum daily support. Their $1899 per person fee doesn't include meals and they charge your an extra $350 per person for food. In addition, you'll pay a mysterious $82.65 credit card fee on top of those numbers meaning that you'll pay an extra $920 ($98 + $700 + $82.65 + $40GST) --nearly $1000 more to ride in their event!!!  We believe that when you do the comparison, there's actually no comparison. The TransRockies continues to offer you the best ride, scenery, full-spectrum support--and definitely the best value in the sport. We invite you to come ride with us in 2010.

SEVEN MORE GREAT REASONS TO RIDE TR IN 2010!

Recently, you got an email with the big news that the TransRockies is moving back to Alberta for 2010 and above, we talked about our unbeatable pricing and value. We thought we'd also give you some of the reasons that 2010 TransRockies will be the best edition yet. So, here are our seven great reasons to choose the TransRockies in 2010.

1. Great New Route: For 2010, our all-new route has been redesigned to eliminate road riding and increase the amount of time spent on trails. This race is about mountains and trails and we've got lots of both. Some others claim to have "the most singletrack " we invite you to compare! This race route is all about your time riding the best the Rocky Mountains has to offer and we deliver the singletrack.

2. Spectacular Mountain Vistas: The TransRockies continues to put more "mountain" in your mountain biking with a route across the top of the Canadian Rockies in high alpine wilderness. Riders will cross the Continental Divide and ride through spectacular Kananaskis Country on a route that includes almost zero traffic, cities and long transfers. Remote wilderness is what the TransRockies experience is all about.

3. The standard for Support & Production Values: Participants tell us every year that we set the benchmark for epic event participant support and event production. Along with an event village that includes hot showers, plentiful and delicious food (included with your race entry), massage, bike service and daily bag/tent service, the event production includes the best daily banquet with high-quality video and photos of each stage. Not to be missed, our final awards dinner and banquet is a night to remember.

4. Later Start Times: Eliminating your time on the roads has allowed us to tighten up our daily itinerary giving riders an extra hour in bed each night thanks to later start times and earlier awards presentations. The earliest starting time is 9am and there are NO early mornings for ferry rides or pre-stage transfers. Save all your energy for the fantastic day of riding ahead.

5. New TR Amenity Shuttles: TransRockies prides itself on the most complete support in the sport and for those who can't put down your Blackberry we will be offering daily shuttle service to the closest cel coverage from our remote camps. Sometimes nothing replaces a quick run into town to find cell phone coverage, do some laundry, or stock up at the general store. By running shuttles to town, we're balancing the beautiful wilderness aspects of the race with a little more civilization for the riders that need it.

6. The Best Prize Purse in North America: From the beginning, we've offered the biggest prize purse to our riders and, again this year, we're offering a $20,000 cash purse to our overall winning teams along with nightly podium prizes to stage podiums.

7. A better night's sleep: Along with later morning start times thanks to our new schedule, TR riders will get a better night's sleep as this year we're offering a better rest thanks to a premium sleeping pad option and more tent space. Check our site for more details!

AFTER A SUCCESSFUL FIRST YEAR, TR3 IS SET TO GROW BY LEAPS AND BOUNDS IN 2010.
After only two months of registration we have the same number of people registered as participated in 2009. The numbers are on track for a huge increase in the number of riders and we're expecting to reach our 200-rider limit well before participants roll to the start line this August.
Offering three days of solo competition supported by the best event team in the sport, TR3 provides a great stepping stone to full epic participation or a great solo ride in years when life and commitments make training for a full week's racing impractical. We're making a few adjustments to the format for TR3 this year with solo riders having a separate start time from our teams which should make it easier for riders to keep track of their position and competition.
So don't delay-sign up today if you want to be part of TR3 in 2010!
