Specialized's Dissident helmet ($350) is their latest and greatest entry into the gravity market. Constructed of a full carbon matrix shell, Specialized set out to create the lightest and most well ventilated helmet on the market. It is also specifically designed to be compatible with the Leatt neck brace and features the Eject helmet removal system. The Dissident has accompanied us on countless DH runs this Summer; look for a full product review in an upcoming issue of Mountain Bike Action.

The Dissident features the "4th Dimension Cooling" ventilation system. The inner liner and cheek pads are removable for easy cleaning.

The "DragBoat" colorway is the most understated of the Dissident lineup.

Details such as the titanium chinstrap buckle show Specialized's commitment to producing a top-of-the-line competitor. Our size large helmet came with three differently sized cheek pad options to fine-tune the Dissident's fit.

A slot at the base of the back of the helmet allows for a headphones to be routed inside with ease.

Along with designing a lightweight and stylish helmet, Specialized also wanted to create a helmet that was as safe as possible. The Eject helmet removal system is integrated into the Dissident's inner shell. The Eject works by inflating a pouch embedded at the top of the inside of the helmet thus reducing traction on the spine in the event that the helmet needs to be removed by paramedics. This is a function we hope to never test out on the mountain.

The Dissident comes with a classy helmet bag to protect your investment.
