VAIL LAKE RACING UPDATE
Hi mbaction. Robert Herber from Vail Lake's racersandchasers.com here. Just got back from the Santa Ynez National and let me tell you that it was HOT! It was great that I saw so many SoCal faces, most of which were standing on the podium. Congratulations to all that hydrated up and competed in the heat. Also a huge shout out to all of those who competed over the weekend in the Xterra at Vail Lake. I also saw a lot of familiar names at the top of those results.
 
So here is my offer to all of you. It has already begun to cool off a bit, and what better way to recover from Santa Ynez's 100-plus degree heat than to race at a lake and next door to a water park? We are bringing back the Refer A Friend Discount. It's for all returning racers who bring people who have not raced with us before. Bring one friend and the two of you will race for $30. Or if you bring two friends all three of you will race for only $40 total. Where else can you get such a deal?
 
I am very excited to announce that we are teaming up with challenged athletes in order to give them a place to ride. Racersandchasers.com has met with the local community and invited all challenged athletes out to Vail Lake. It's going to be great having this group of aspiring mountain bikers out there competing with us.
 
For this weekend remember to bring picnic supplies and sunblock. We will have another huge post race barbecue May 24. You are also more than welcome to go for a swim after finishing the race. Or, for you triathletes, dive in and swim before the start!
