Teacher?s notes: The Rocket 88 Stage-1 feels firm enough under power to win hardtail converts without requiring a lockout suspension feature. A mixture of pro and joe-blow parts make the Schwinn a good value. The constant-wheelbase feature of its parallelogram rear suspension stabilizes the Schwinn through fast or slow corners. The Rocket 88 is a novel but worthy XC machine. Tight clearance around the rear stays will cause mud fouling if you ride in sticky clay soils.
