Iron Horse Downhill Racer is on way to 3rd World Cup Championship Title

Iron Horse’s World Champion Racer, Sam Hill dominates the Bromont World Cup, Canada
beating Greg Minnaar of South Africa by  2.7 seconds. Battling muddy and slippery trail conditions, Hill, for Monster Energy /Iron Horse/ Mad Catz, took 1st place for the second time this season and has reclaimed the World Cup Series lead with two races remaining. Brendan Fairclough, who joined Monster Energy/ Iron Horse/ Mad Catz racing team this year placed 6th.

Riding his Iron Horse Sunday World Cup, Hill followed up on his second place finish at Mont Saint Anne, Canada with a stellar performance in the weekend’s main event despite struggling with a bad case of the flu. Minnaar and Hill have been in close competition all season. Hill’s current 250 point lead over Minnaar’s 182 points awards him a strong advantage leading up to the final two races. The competition will intensify as Hill defends his reigning World Cup title Championship at Cranberra, Australia on August 31st and at Schladming, Austria on September 14th promising nothing but a battle to the finish line.

This years UCI World Cup is a series of 7 downhill races held worldwide. Hill, a two-time UCI World Downhill Champion and current 2008 points leader is on track to complete another championship season. “Iron Horse is poised with excitement that Sam is having another spectacular season, says Cliff Weidberg, President of Iron Horse Bicycles. “We wish him all the best and are proud to support in his quest for yet another championship.”

“I’m happy with what the team and rider’s have done to this point in the season. Brendan is stepping it up to a level I know he’s got, and Sam is leading the World Cup Series...everything is going smooth” Of course we wouldn’t be here without great teamwork, amazing support from our sponsors, and the excellent job Jacy does keeping the bikes performing at the top level,” added Sean Heimdal, Team Manager.
