Having participated in all three prior BC Bike Races, Rocky Mountain Bikes decided to get more involved in the event and the two companies reached a multi-year agreement early this spring.
Rocky Mountain Bicycles Marketing Manager, Pete Roggeman commented, “BC Bike Race embodies many of the core values of the Rocky Mountain brand; adventure, fun, competition, and riding the best singletrack in the world. Partnering with BCBR was a natural fit. To have a race of this caliber in our own back yard is a great opportunity for us.”
BC Bike Race founder, Dean Payne, is equally excited about the new partnership. “We’re very happy to welcome Rocky Mountain as our official bike sponsor this season. They’re a BC company with an accomplished history of racing and we look forward to a long partnership with them.”
Participants and the general public will have the opportunity to demo Rocky Mountain Bikes, have their Rocky Mountain bikes tuned up by factory mechanics, and hang out with Rocky Mountain team racers vying for the 2010 BC Bike Race title. “We’re coming with some of our best racers and some new technology up our sleeves. We think we’ve got the perfect weapon for this race”, commented Roggeman.
The 4th running of the BC Bike Race, which runs June 27 to July 4 is still four months away, but registration is filling up quickly and the final details of the course are being solidified. In constant pursuit of the Ultimate Singletrack Experience, course designers are hard at work adjusting venues to better suit participants’ needs. Host towns are also getting more involved in the event, further adding to the festival-like atmosphere. Payne continues, “Our first three events were knock-out successes, but we feel that the 2010 edition will top them all.”
