ELITE MEN U.S. WORLD'S TEAM NOMINEES
USA Cycling announced today the four men nominated to represent the United States in the elite men's division of the 2008 UCI Cyclocross World Championships, January 26-27 in Treviso, Italy.
Three men earned automatic nominations to the squad: Jonathan Page (Northfield, NH), Ryan Trebon (Corvallis, OR) and Tim Johnson (Middleton, MA).
Page qualified as a silver medalist from the 2007 world championships while Johnson and Trebon earned their spots as the next two Americans in the UCI's International Cyclocross Rankings. Currently, Page is the top ranked American in the world in 18th, followed by Johnson (19th) and Trebon (29th).
Ranked 34th in the world, Jeremy Powers (Hadley, MA) was the lone discretionary nomination.
