Have you ever thought of kicking off your summer vacation with mountain bike racing? Not just grinding it out down Below in 100-degree heat. No, we're talking about racing under a pine cover, in a breeze, and where it's a good 10 degrees cooler. Yup, that is what it's like when you race the world's best tight and twisty singletrack at Rim Nordic.
 
2008 RIM NORDIC XC SCHEDULE
*Jun 22 XC #1
*Jul 13 XC #2
*Jul 27 XC #3 & SoCal State #6
*Aug 17 XC #4 (Series Final)
*Sep 14 Autumn Cup XC single day event
 
*Saturday 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. registration/packet pickup
*Sunday 7:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. registration and Packet Pickups
*9:00 a.m. Beginner, Tandems and Junior cross-country
*10:00 a.m. Sport cross-country
*11:00 a.m. Pro and Expert Women cross-country
*11:30 a.m. Pro and Expert Men cross-country

SO CAL MT STAGE RACE
*Jul 12 & 13th
*Saturday Hillclimb and Short Track
*Sunday Cross-Country
Either the Cross-Country result or the Stage Race overall result, whichever is higher, will count towards the 2008 Rim Nordic XC Series overall.
 
RIM NORDIC SUPER D SCHEDULE
*Jul 26 SoCal State Series Super D
*Sep 13 Autumn Cup Super D 2008 Super D
 
Each Rim Nordic course varies in makeup and measures between 8 to 10 miles with half singletrack, half fire roads, and with 500 feet minimum elevation gain per lap.
 
Again this season awards will be given 5 deep in every category with 10 or more participants. Overall trophies will be awarded to the top 5 series finishers in each category. Overall is determined by the total points earned for the best 3 of 5 races (Stage Race points may be included) with a 2 race minimum participation. You must race the Series Finale to be eligible for the overall trophy.
 
Pro/Semi Pro/Expert Men: In addition to individual category awards, you will also compete for the 5 fastest times of the day to earn CASH prizes--1st $125, 2nd $100, 3rd $60, 4th $50, 5th $40 and more from some new sponsors. (Thank you Bear Valley Bikes for your addition to the cash awards.)
 
Pro/Expert Women fastest lap payout: 1st $50, 2nd $40, 3rd $35 with a minimum of 6 participants.
 
Camping will be available in Snow Valley’s parking lot across the street from Rim Nordic. Cost will be $20 per night. NO hook-up available. Reservations and check-in will be at Rim Nordic.
 
The Shop/Team Overall Award is back again! You must declare the team at the beginning of the season by submitting a list. All team members must wear jersey/t-shirt representing the team. Total points scored for the top 8 team members; maximum of 2 women's results with different points awarded for each category.
 
Still in the works is an overall Shop/Team award for individual Beginner, Sport, Expert & Pro category, as well as the overall top 8 team members. All we need to see is enough interest from all of you SoCal shop and team owners out there!
 
The women restrooms will be open at Snow Valley.
 
$25 V.I.P.
