Mitch Ropelato made history in late March when he won the PRO GRT downhill in Fontana, California, aboard a Specialized Stumpjumper FSR 29er
(above); besting his teammate Aaron Gwin on a Demo 8 26er, while Logan Binggeli took third on a 27.5-inch-wheeled KHS bike. Logan and his 27.5 KHS
beat Aaron and the Demo 8 in the first round of the PRO GRT. Then Gwin won the Sea Otter downhill on a Specialized Enduro 29er
. Nowhere is the wheel war being fought out more than on gravity trails. Finally, Specialized was recently spotted testing a 27.5-inch downhill bike at Whistler.
