The secret weapon: Todd Wells stuck sacks of ice inside his jersey for the Elite Men's Short Track race in Macungie, Pennsylvania. While other riders were melting down during the race, which was held with temperatures in the 90s, along with high humidity, Todd was keeping cool. He had the ice in what looked to be women's nylon stockings (probably borrowed from his wife, Meg), and placed next to his stomach and across his shoulders. It must have worked. Todd won another USA Cycling National Championship.
