Maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all. Our photographer decided to stand right on the lip of this 100-foot-high cliff to get an action shot of Arthur "Biscuit" Smith riding near the edge of Gooseberry Mesa. The only problem was, Smith jumped this section and kicked out his back wheel for a mini-whip (this photo only shows a fraction of how far he kicked out his wheel), missing our photographer by about two feet—maybe less. Making matters worse, when Smith jumped, the top of his head went out of the photo. The whole setup was too sketchy to shoot it again. The super-wide-angle lens used for the photo makes the bike look farther away than it really was. One of the other riders wouldn't even watch us shoot this photo.
