Two-time (2003, 2012) downhill World Champion
Greg Minnaar flies through a grassy turn at the Windham, New York, World Cup race. It's going to be interesting to see how the World Cup downhill races go in 2013. Will Gwin and Minnaar be the top guys again? Will Gwin be as fast on his new Specialized as he was on his Trek? Will Minnaar start dominating the World Cup races again? What about New Zealand's Brook McDonald, who won the last round of the World Cup downhill series in 2012? Is he going to do that again this year? And then what about France's Loic Bruni, who took fifth in the elite men's (pro) class at Windham at age 17 and then beat America's Richie Rude, also 17, by three seconds to win the Junior's title at the World Championships last summer? Could Loic Bruni be ready to start battling guys like Minnaar for the gold medals already? We'll find out in the months ahead. --John Ker
