Here's a blast from the past, with Bernie Tusko getting steezy on a Cannondale Raven. Bernie was our go-to rider for test-bike photos for much of the 1990s. We first started shooting with him in late 1993.
During that time, Bernie was also running his own company, where he designed and manufactured the innovative Cool Head helmet visors, which helped launch the visor trend.
Since then, Tusko has devoted much of his time and focus to his other passion —guitar building — and squeezing the absolute highest level of performance from his clients’ guitars. Many A-List guitar players, builders and collectors consider him some sort of guitar whisperer. Through his company called FretGuru, he's developed a range of pro-level guitar tools, which have found their way to the workbenches of the world's elite guitar builders and guitar techs, as well as serious guitar players and enthusiasts.
Despite the demands on his time, Bernie still rides regularly in the hills near Laguna Beach, California, and he’s still ridiculously fast. By the way, before Bernie became well-known in the mountain bike world, he was one of the top speedway motorcycle racers in Southern California.
