Q: I’m looking to get a fork for my Giant Reign, and it’s between the RockShox Revelation RLT Ti and the Marzocchi 44 RC3 Ti.  Your thoughts?
-Billy, ready to boing

MBA: We are totally enamored with the Marzocchi 44 RC3 Ti. When we tested the fork in September of 2010 we stated, “On the trail, this is the best performing Marzocchi trailbike fork we have ridden and a fork that will stand stanchion to stanchion with any other trailbike fork. While air springs have made giant leaps in performance, there is still nothing that touches the smooth, progressive movement of a coil-over spring fork. But the titanium spring alone doesn’t make a smooth, responsive fork. Marzocchi’s new bushings and nickel coating work to glide the sliders up the stanchion tubes, and we did not experience any oil seepage. The open-bath damping system may sound old school, but who cares when it provides such smooth performance? We never encountered harsh bottoming or topping out.” We have also seen a big improvement in Marzocchi’s quality control. In the past, identical Marzocchi forks could feel very different. That’s not the case anymore. Your Marzocchi 44 RC3 Ti is going to feel as good as ours.
