First time: Mountain resident Amanda Uttke got so excited watching her dad race the Saturday Super D that she signed up for the Sunday XC...and won the Beginner class.

Fast junior: U.S. 13-14 XC Champ Casey Williams used the Autumn Cup to get his feet wet in the 18-and-under Expert class. He was less than 7 minutes off the winning Pro time.

Ageless: Pioneer Dan Hanebrink is a National Champion, a record holder, an innovator, a designer, a fabricator, and a bike company owner. Even at 69-years-old he looks strong and fit.

From slopes to singletrack: Elmo Kassin is a ski pro from Norway who is a regular here during the winter. Now he's added XC mountain biking to his bag of tricks, finishing 3rd Expert 35-39.

Learning curve: Just 4 years ago Bearclaw's Mike Tettleton was a junior. Now he is a top 10 NMBS semipro. Mike races Pro locally, and went 0.2 mph faster than any other rider at Rim Nordic.

He’s back: Longtime Riverside mountain bike fixture Rich O'Bryan has finished his business stint in NorCal, is back in town, and back racing and placing in the 40-44 Experts.

Before dropping down into Rim Nordic's legendary singletrack switchbacks, Autumn Cup racers had the honor to break in some fresh San Bernardino Mountain singletrack; fresh, tight, narrow, undulating, extremely busy trail. The new one mile section, which for right now will be called the Autumn Cup Singletrack, cuts down a steep valley and connects to the SoCal Mt. Stage Race’s Hillclimb finish. From there it is back down the hillclimb's Vista Point Trail to the Rim Nordic Base Service Road. Heading into the start/finish the Autumn Cup circuit culminated with the challenging Big Cedar loop. Course length came to 7-1/4 miles with a total elevation gain of 2915 feet.
