Ellsworth Handcrafted Bicycles are using Interbike in Las Vegas, September 19-21, to unveil a new Carbon Evolve, an all carbon frame version of the Evolve 29er, and the Epiphany 275, which “upsizes” Ellsworth’s popular trailbike to a 27.5” wheels.


The Carbon Evolve is based on the cross-country geometry of Ellsworth’s Truth model. The bike is crafted from Aerospace Toray carbon that is claimed to be compacted at over 300 psi, which is almost three times the industry standard for carbon imported from China. The Rare Earth Carbon frame design features force directional carbon shapes and lay patterns with internal cable routing to protect cables from the elements.

Available in 3.9- and 4.7-inch-travel versions, the Carbon Evolve features precision-machined rockers, a swaged and shaped hydro-formed aluminum chainstay and Ellsworth’s ICT suspension system. The bike features a two-tone black and white matte finish with new Ellsworth frame graphics. MSRP — frame only — $2,995; complete bikes — X9 kit $4,695; XT $5,695; and XTR Pro $7,495. The Epiphany 275 brings the handling stability and lightness of Ellsworth Epiphany trailbike to the world of 27.5-inch wheels. This combines bigger wheels with 5.5-inches of  travel and a 68-degree head angle.  The Epiphany 275 comes standard with carbon shock stay. The Epiphany 275 continues the Ellsworth tradition of Handmade in the USA with aerospace aluminum, shot peened, anodized and laser etched, all here in Southern California.
