The sentencing for retired mountain bike racer Melissa “Missy” Giove in September has been adjourned again until Dec. 1, 2010. The sentencing will occur in U.S. District Court in Albany, New York. Missy, 37, was arrested by federal agents in Wilton in June 2009 and charged with possession of nearly 400 pounds of marijuana. She pleaded guilty to felony marijuana possession in December.
Missy faces up to 40 years in prison and a $2 million fine.
Missy Giove is one of gravity mountain bike racing's most decorated women competitors. Her troubles followed her retirement from racing.
