The 9th race on the Mountain Bike Cross-Country Calendar was the Stump Jump 2008 in Spartanburg, SC. Travis Livermon (Winterville, NC) took the men's pro race while 22-year-old Jamie Dinkins (Powell, TN) took the pro women's contest.

Both the cross-country and short track contests at the real deal Santa Ynez Valley Norba National in Los Olivos, CA marked the 10th event of the Cross-Country Calendar. Sid Taberlay (Aus) took the men's pro cross-country race while Kelli Emmett (Colorado Springs, CO) won the women's contest. In the short track competition it was Geoff Kabush (Can) earning the win over a powerful pro men's field. Czech Katerina Nash won the women's pro short track competition.
