Rain plagued the second contest of the Mountain Bike Cross-Country Calendar, the Chickasaw Trace Classic in Columbia, TN. In the Pro/Semipro category, Andrew Johnston (Lilburn, GA) took the win with a time of 2:15:08 on the wet, 27-mile course. Sixteen-year-old Junior Expert Seth Kemp of Campobello, SC, finished only a fraction of a second behind Johnston. Expert rider Amanda Sproat (Columbus, OH) took the overall women's victory.

In a showing of great generosity, the Norba Nationals allowed USA Cycling to borrow off of the National Mountain Bike Series' popularity. That's right, the Southridge Norba National in Fontana, CA and Nova Norba National in Fountain Hills, AZ allowed the Mountain Bike Cross-Country Calender in as a sideshow.

However, USA Cycling has completely fumbled the points score, so all that they have released are the Mountain Bike Cross-Country Calender series standings after the Southridge event:

2. Adam Craig...Giant...70
2. Brad Stephenson...Shoe-Air...70
