USA Cycling owes mountain bikers a big thank you. We allowed their ill-conceived Mountain Bike Cross-Country Calendar to be included in with the U.S. Mountain Bike National Championships at Mount Snow Resort in Vermont. We are generous by nature, and don't mind helping out a struggling sanctioning body that caters to weenie roadies.
So besides handing out the stars-and-stripes to Americas best racers, Mount Snow served as race 19 of the Calendar sideshow act. With only five races remaining, the current Mountain Bike Cross-Country Calendar standings are as follows:
1. Barry Wicks...Kona-Les Gets...359 points
2. Adam Craig...Giant...334
3. Jeremy Horgan-Kobelski...Subaru-GF...318
4. Ryan Trebon...Kona...313
5. Carl Decker...Giant...303

2. Katerina Nash...Luna CHIX...470
3. Kelli Emmett...Giant...306

The next race on the Mountain Bike Cross-Country Calendar sideshow act will be Sol Survivor, August 1-3 in Sol Vista, CO.
GRAVITY CALENDAR
The downhill, dual slalom and Super D contests at the U.S. Mountain Bike National Championships made up the sixth sideshow on the unbelievably poorly conceived Mountain Bike Gravity Calendar. (Could someone please tell the girlie-men roadies at USA Cycling that the three events share little in common?)
