The results of the first annual Hillbilly Downhill are finally in (timing glitches delayed the results at the event). Eric Carter’s first downhill race at Vail Lake was a huge success; from its laid back, outlaw-style format, thumbs up course layout, and the stars of the sport showed up to do battle. Temecula was the place to be.
Sweetening the pie, was that Eric invited Racersandchasers promoter Robert Herber to schedule in the first round of the Winter Shootout cross-country event. In other words, there was a lot going on at Vail Lake. The huge recreation area has hosted Super D, but this was Vail Lake’s first official downhill event. Gravity racing is back down close to San Diego!
