Aaron Gwin took the win at Windham on his way to a record 5x W.C. wins in 2011

Just two short months ago, Windham, New York welcomed the international mountain biking community for the excitement and festivities of the seventh race of the 2011 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup series.

That picturesque little town in the Catskills and many of its residents took quite a beating from Hurricane Irene earlier this week and need your help.  Main Street in Windham is all but gone. Many businesses and houses have been swept away by the raging waters. Several of the people responsible for putting on the World Cup – all of whom are volunteers – have lost their businesses or homes and in some cases, both.

Please consider helping out by spreading the word and making a donation to aid in the rebuilding of Windham.  You can contribute by going to www.windhamrebuild.org and clicking on the “donate” button, or by sending a check to WARF at 61 State Route 296, Windham, NY 12496. Please indicate that the donation is intended for flood relief.
