If you haven't joined in on the fun of recording your rides and sharing adventures with your friends now is a great time to start. Looks like the folks at GoPro have raised the bar again withe their new HD Hero2 action sports camera. We reviewed the original GoPro HD Hero earlier this year and were enamored with how well it performed, it's still one of our all time favorite gadgets. As if the quality on original HD Hero wasn't incredible enough, the HD Hero2 brings professional level quality down to the amateur film maker with a list of new features and improvements. Here's the short list:
  • Sharper lens and better low light performance.
  • Like the original, film in 1080p HD
  • Still camera performance is boosted up to 11MP
  • Able to shoot 10 still photos in 1 sec
  • Lens has adjustable field of view with 3 settings (170º, 127º, and 90º)
  • Compatible with new wifi bac-bac which will allows users to wirelessly control their camera, preview their video, and stream to the web

Shown above is the outdoor edition which sells for $299 and offers mounts to get it secured to your helmet. Additional mounts are available too. The mounts haven't changed so if you have a previous GoPro all of your mounts are still compatible. For more info and full specs on the HD Hero2 head over to GoPro.
