The guys over at Hayes Components came up with this creative angle to keep weight off over the holiday season. Slap on a set of lighter wheels.
The SunRinglé
Black Flag Pro SL and Charger Pro SL wheels are finally available, just in time
to give you an excuse to dive into a second helping of food.
The new
Pro SL Charger and Black Flag wheels feature Stan’s NoTubes technology,
Wheelsmith bladed spokes and a taller rim profile. Weight has also been shaved from the front and rear
hub designs which feature multiple end caps to accommodate all of today’s axle
configurations. The rear hub has a claimed 50% quicker hub engagement for faster power
transfer than the original Pro series.
Pro SL
Charger and Black Flag wheels are delivered with the multiple end caps, come
with Stan’s yellow rim tape installed and have Stan’s sealant in the box.
The SunRinglé
Charger and Black Flag Pro SL wheels are currently available in 26” and 29”
configurations. The wheelset claimed weight on the Chargers is 3.4 pounds for 26” and 3.7 pounds for 29”. Black flag weights are 3.2 pounds and 3.5 pounds
respectively. Hayes says a 27.5” wheel will be
introduced in the near future.
The Black Flag SL goes for $899.99 for 26” and
$924.99 for the 29er. The Charger SL $899.99 for 26” and $924.99 for the 29er.
