Officially the 2012 Crankworx Whistler began last Saturday, but today, Wednesday August 15th, the crowds are starting to arrive in big numbers and the lift lines are snaking all the way to the Long Horn patio. Want to see what you are missing?

Steve Smith won the Air Downhill by beating a 40-year-old man (and 98 younger professionals).

The 40-year-old man happened to be Brian Lopes who beat all the kids except Steve for his second place.

This all-carbon-fiber
Devinci Dixon is actually better than the one that Steve Smith won on. Why didn't Steve opt for the lighter and more rigid carbon version? This bad boy is so fresh out of the factory that Steve didn't have time to ride it before today's event. Expect to see it under Steve in the near future.

Check out this stunt being built for Saturday's main event. You going to be here?
Sea Sucker has this
GoPro helmet camera mount along with all their car racks. It is crazy how many riders are using the GoPro up here in Whistler. If Big Foot wanders on to any of these trails, there will be "film at 11" for sure.

You have never seen
rental fleets as impressive as what is available in the village. This is only one shop's fleet. There are plenty more and the bikes are not junkers. This is a great place to demo the bike of your dreams.

The
SRAM guys, even with any army of techs, can't keep up with the demand for service. Want a fork massaged? Better get here early.

There are some action shots that just work even if the bike and rider get cut off. Action from the Air Downhill.

It is very common to see bears inside the Whistler Park limits.

A few spare tires stacked outside the
Trek World Racing pits.

Weather forecast is for more warm weather and clear skies.
