When Crankbrothers redesigned the Mallet platform pedal in 2011, it featured a slimmer body that many downhill racers felt did not offer enough platform. To respond to this feedback, Crankbrothers has added a new pedal to the Mallet family. It's a premium, downhill race pedal with the same shape and feel of the original mallet, but designed specifically for World Cup dh racers, the Mallet dh/race.

Features:
Improved mud clearance - Redesigned body shape is more open to improve mud shedding.
More traction pins - 8 adjustable traction pins compared to 6 on the previous Mallet
Lighter weight - Increased machining and redesigned internal shape
Stronger spindle and spring - New spindle tests 50% stronger than the previous Mallet design
Better sealing - New construction eliminates leak paths and improves sealing

The mallet dh/race has already started to ship to key distributors, so it should be available in bike shops very soon. In the US, Highway 2 is the first distributor to receive inventory of the mallet dh/race.
