Mass-start downhill marathon events are not staged in the US, but in Europe, they are simply huge--attracting thousands of racers and the best talent in the continent. The Megavalanche is probably the king of them all. Commencal sent us a few pictures taken by renowned photographer Hoshi Yoshida. --RC

We have some big news on the Commencal front. Remy Absalon won the renowned
Alpe d'Huez Megavalanche race a few days ago on the about to be released
Built from High Modulus 12k carbon fiber, the new Commencal Meta 5 bike is
20% lighter than last year's aluminum Meta 5. (The 2009 bike was no slouch
either, having won 3 European Downhill Championships). The designers at
Commencal feel this portends big things for the 2010 race season - as the US
distributor for we feel extremely lucky to have yet another race phenom in
the Commencal stable.
