California Golden State Downhill Finals

The fourth and final round of the California Golden State Championship was held Sunday, October 10 at Southridge Park in Fontana, California. After several days of rainy weather and cool temperatures, the sun returned to SoCal, beating down on Fontana racers who battled wind gusts and temperatures well over 90 degrees all weekend. As the first pro racers left the start house the wind began to pick up, creating a brutal head wind for the final 200 yard sprint to finish line. For every racer who took to the course throughout the day, the wind seemed to answer by increasing its strength for each rider who challenged Mother Nature.

The next Southridge USA race held in Fontana will be the Marzocchi Predators Come Out At Night downhill race held under the lights Saturday, November 13, 2010.
