Lights. Camera. Huck-tion! It's time to get your film ready for the Third
Annual Boston Mountain Bike Video Awards, presented by Kona Bicycles and JRACycles. It's not too late to take advantage of fall colors and Indian summerto start filming and editing in time for the deadline.
Finalists will be selected by our panel of judges and shown on the big
screen at an annual awards event, April 30th. Among the judges, pro Kona
Clump rider, David Watson, will be on hand to meet everyone and offer his
own 2-bits about riding, filming and living the live of a pro freerider.
Each person can submit up to two videos (note: both of your films may be
finalists). Videos must be no longer than 10 minutes, but we strongly
suggest keeping them to 5-6 minutes each. Some aspect of New England riding
culture is recommended, whether it's local footage, local filmmakers, or
local riders. Videos can feature cross-country, freeriding, trials, urban
assault, racing, or your own unique interpretation of mountain bike culture.
Creativity and humor are a big plus.
Films will be due after the holidays; stay tuned to www.nemba.org for submission details later this fall. Any
questions, contact Krisztina Holly at
traildoctor@mit.edu.
The Boston Mountain Bike Video Awards is in its third year. Hosted by the
New England Mountain Bike Association (NEMBA), this benefit sells out early
every year and has raised nearly $20,000 for environmentally sustainable
trails.
