Trek World Racing’s Brook MacDonald took home the win yesterday at stop #4 of the USA Cycling ProGRT tour at Mountain Creek Bike Park. On a wet Mountain Creek Spring Classic course, Brook put down the fastest time of the day with an impressive time of 2:12.98, less than 1/10th of a second faster than team mate and east coast favorite, Neko Mulally who finished 2nd.

Rounding out the podium was KHS Factory Racing’s Logan Binggeli in 3rd. For the Pro Women it was Trek/Integrity racer Anne Galyean who took the top spot on the podium with a time of 2:48.71. Anne was followed by Exprezo rider Alison Zimmer in 2nd and Speed Legion/Mountain Creek Rider, Mary Elges in 3rd. On the amateur side, Charlie Harrison of Traboro Canyon, CA dominated the weekend winning both the Saturday seeding runs and the finals on Sunday with a blazing time of 2:18.96.

Nearly 300 participants took part in this year’s Spring Classic competing for points in both the USA Cycling ProGRT Series as well as the POC Eastern States Cup Series. New for this year, Mountain Creek added a Super D race to the weekend festivities on Saturday. Super D participants competed on a fast and fun course that utilized the resort’s ski trails, single track and downhill trails. In the Pro/Open category it was Chris Talotta of Bethlehem, PA took the Pro Men’s win, while Alison Zimmer of Lincoln, VT took the top spot for the Pro Women.

The USA Cycling Pro GRT and POC Eastern States Cup Series move next to Plattekill Bike Park in Roxbury, NY this weekend for the Gravity Open ProGRT & Super D.
