- Innovative mountain bike tour company Big Mountain Bike Adventures continues to forge a fresh path for mountain bikers in 2010 with new trips to Nepal, New Zealand, Costa Rica, Canada's Yukon Territory and Vancouver/Whistler, BC.
Dubbed Himalaya Heights, the adventurous Nepal trip features challenging singletrack on the planet's biggest mountains, a glimpse of the unique culture and three domestic flights — one that skirts Annapurna, the world's 10th tallest mountain.
Their highly anticipated New Zealand trip, Silver Fern, is a travelling road trip that starts in Queenstown in the heart of the Southern Alps of the South Island and ends in Auckland, in the tropical north. "New Zealand is so diverse for it's size," says
Big Mountain owner Chris Winter, "to ride and see so much of this beautiful country in one swoop is truly epic."
"Our new Costa Rica all-mountain trip, Coolo Rico, is a real adventure — up and down remote jungle-clad mountains with local guide and host Paulo Valle. One of trails on this trip has only been ridden once — it'll be a challenge, but it ends on the
Pacific Coast and the dreamy beaches — you'll earn the pleasure of relaxing for a few days," says Winter.
At home in Canada, Big Mountain has launched Midnight Sun in the Yukon Territory and Sea to Sky between Vancouver and Whistler. "Our backyard is truly spectacular and natural," says Winter, "where else in the world can you ride such a vast network of man-made trails with ultra-passionate mountain bikers and see a bear along the way?"
