Only 20 miles from Vegas, Bootleg Canyon Mountain Bike park in Boulder City, NV could possess the gnarliest downhill courses in the country. We caught up with round three of BC's winter and downhill series which takes place on the forementioned carnivorous trails. As a training ground several of the country's top pro downhillers, BC's unique trail system provides great race action. "I've raced here a half-dozen times over the past couple of season," said Pro racer and Intense team rider David Klaassen Van Oorschot. "The courses here are so challenging, there's nothing really like it."
Along with their established the downhill series, BC debuted their mountaincross event. The mountaincross provided insane racing action. The course was in excellent condition, and high-speed, chattery berms and monsterous doubles kept racers on their toes. The combined Pro and Expert field (re-named the Fast class) was an interesting way of bringing together racers who wouldn't normally get to compete against each other.
The first mountaincross was a success and the next event should have any kinks worked out, making the race action that much better.
