BASE CAMP FOR CYCLISTS IN TUCSON, AZ--NOV 23

Any cyclist, mountain or road, racer or not, looking to get an edge on the competition or to have better fitness need not look any further than The Endurance Network?s Base Camp. The coed camp is eight days of base training ?Crawford Style? in Tucson, AZ ? Dec. 28, 2004-Jan.4, 2005. The camp itinerary includes: lodging, full breakfast, daily supported rides, appearances by top professional athletes, training seminars from Rick Crawford (See Bike.com for articles) and structural guru Dr. Joe LaCaze and great times with fellow cyclists.

Attendees will be instructed on the proper way to do base, the reasons for base, other cycling issues that can be addressed during base and much more. Daily supported rides will be 3-6 hours in length and meander through the beautiful desert landscapes surrounding Tucson. Dr. LaCaze will be providing structural assessments at discounted rates and a massage therapist will also be available for hire.

Many of these top athletes coached by Rick Crawford will also be attending to do base: Tom Danielson, Shonny Vanlandingham, Todd Wells, Jamie Whitmore, Chann McRae, Frank Mapel, Kristen Johnson and Chris Wherry.

According to Crawford, ? Base training is the foundation of endurance fitness and benefits athletes on many different levels. If done correctly, riding base can propel an athlete to new levels of success. But that is just it, it must be done correctly or its value is diminished greatly. Base is the time that I am most inflexible with my athletes, it takes great patience on their part.?

Dr Joe LaCaze - Is a doctor specializing in structural analysis. He is also a National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Performance Enhancement Specialist and an expert in Neuromuscular therapy, Miofacial release and active isolated stretching. His six part assessment includes posture analysis, sensory-motor assessment, core analysis, muscle length assessment, muscle coordination assessment and a complete joint assessment of the entire body. It is designed to uncover key biomechanical faults which cause performance leaks, dysfunctions and pain syndromes.

Rick Crawford - Is one of the most well known endurance coaches in the country and manages many athletes? programs including the ones listed below. His training programs follow a strict base training regimen, a steady progression to high end output, and focuses on the well-being of the Central Nervous System (come to camp to find out more).

The cost for Base Camp is $475 (quad occupancy) and $695 (dbl occupancy).
