We ride, we race, some of us get hurt. Freestyler Aaron Cooke launched a non-profit corporation that takes donations from individuals and businesses that participate in action sports and then turns the money around to help fallen members and their families. It works--largely because the man who put it together is the real deal. Log onto the URL at the bottom of the page and decide for yourself. It'a about family and taking care of our own.--Richard Cunningham
The Athlete Recovery Fund has progressed at an amazing rate in a short amount of time. We are not yet where we need to be and your support is crucial to reaching our long term goals. In order to get there we are going to need great spokespeople, support from brands, athlete's and event organizors and good old fashion cash reserves so that when our guys are injured we are ready to help.
Athlete Recovery Fund is not a bank account that should only be used after an athlete is injured in an effort to raise money for that specific cause. Action Sports is a big family. If everyone pitches in a little bit we wont have to solicit these knee jerk donations. There are a lot of brands out there who have the ability to donate to the cause.
If you haven't donated yet, ask yourself why. Then email me so that we can discuss and overcome this speed bump. As a true non profit with no ties to for profit business we are here for a selfless charitable cause. Let's all work together to accomplish the obvious goal.
ARF is my passion. I still have a day job or two that provide for my family financially. Being able to help families in a time of need makes every hour spent on ARF so rewarding. Everyone in action sports looks forward to your support.
Sincerely,
Aaron Cooke
