Last year we not only had the Glen Helen Motocross National, but also the Big Bear National on this most important day. This year mom's day is neatly sandwiched between the Bonelli Park Cal State XC and Big Bear. But many of you will still make mom mad by going to the motocross national.
So we have a better idea.
ONLY MAKE MOM HALF MAD
Instead, race mountain bikes at the historic Corriganville Movie Ranch. Then you can still get home in time to take mom out.
This is what it's like to race at a movie ranch: Starting at Old Silvertown racers climb up single and double track trails through Fort Apache, and then up the Stagecoach Trail to Burma Pass. Descend on singletrack through the Sherwood Forest, plunge several times in and out of Jungle Jim Lake -- now empty -- and tempo down the Railroad Access Trail to the finish.
If you're lucky, you might even see the Lone Ranger's, Marshal Matt Dillon's or Tarzan's ghosts while racing the four mile loop.
