A FOND FAREWELL TO KIRK MOLDAY--AUG 27

Kirk Molday, 2001 National XC Champion To Retire...

Kirk Molday announced that 2002 would be his last year as a professional mountain bike racer. After a long demanding career Kirk has decided to go back to school to become a landscape engineer. Kirk was the 2001 NORBA National cross country Champion, ranked 4th in the World and won the NORBA National Series in 1997 and was always a threat when the courses where hot and demanding. Kirk is ranked 7th in the all-time NORBA cross-country Winners list and a 2 time Big Bear winner.

"When Kirk joined our Team in 2001, I was concerned mainly because we were always a downhill only team and I didn't know if he would fit in with the downhillers. Man was I wrong. He fit in perfectly, he is one of the nicest guys I have met on the circuit and he will be missed. Kirk keeps to himself and a lot of people think that is a sign of arrogance, but he is there to do a job and he understands that. As long as I am working with a team, Kirk will always have a bike to race or ride, especially when he wants to come and win Big Bear!" "I still feel he is one of the best cross-country racers America ever had." Craig Hoyt.
