AUTOMATIC QUALIFIERS FOR MARATHON WORLDS
USA Cycling announced today automatic nominations for the 2005 UCI Marathon
World Championships in Lillehammer, Norway on August 20th.

The elite men qualifiers are Jay Henry (Avon, Colo.), Chris Eatough
(Ellicott City, Maine), Adam Craig (Bangor, Maine), Jeremy Horgan-Kobelski
(Boulder, Colo.), and Todd Wells (Durango, Colo.).

The elite women who qualified are Monique Sawicki (Calimesa, Calif.), Mary
McConneloug (Chilton, Mass.) Kelli Emmett (Colorado Springs, Colo.), Willow
Koerber (Horseshoe, N.C.), and Sue Haywood (Davis, W.Va.).

Horgan-Kobelski declined his nomination. (MBA note: The Marathon World's falls on a weekend that begins a block of racing which includes NORBA
National Cross-Country's #7 at Snowshoe and #8, the finale, at Mount Snow;
then the grandaddy of them all, the World Cross-Country Championships in
Livigno, Italy. This is the block of racing that JHK is peaking for.)

The final team that will represent the United States at the Marathon World
Championships will be named on July 20.
