AUG 10--NATIONAL CHAMP FUNDRAISER!

The passion, tenacity and natural talent that it takes to become a national champ is simply overwhelming. To do it these champions will literally put their lives on hold as they chase after that once in a lifetime dream of being number one. Such is the story of SoCal amateur Monique Sawicki. Last year Monique, or Pua as she goes by, sprung up out of nowhere and did the
impossible: She won the NORBA National Marathon Series.

As "The Champ" Monique did receive a bit more help this year. So it was a little easier to race the National Marathons this year, as evident by the fact that Monique has already won the series with two events still to go.

Monique is still far from being a big bucks factory sponsored pro. So to help offset some of the expense of her going after her next goal of winning the World 24 Hour Solo Champs, Pua and husband Ron Sawicki have come up with this interesting fundraiser.

HELP MONIQUE "PUA" SAWICKI GO TO WORLDS!!

Pua is a local SoCal favorite who holds the female 2004 and 2005 NORBA National Marathon Series title, along with the 2005 24 Hour Solo National title.

Pua's Sponsors, the Warrior's Society and Share are helping us go to the World 24 Hour Solo Championships in British Columbia on September 3 and 4. She is the current 24 Hour Solo National Champion and has a chance of taking the World Title, but can't afford to go.

We will be having a benefit ride and auction to help pay for the travel and other expenses. Her sponsors, companies like Kenda, DT Swiss, Titus, Magura, Protech and FSA will be donating really great products to help. Go to teammata.com/news.html for the details on the list of sponsors and products to be auctioned.

It's all taking place Saturday, August 27 starting at 5 p.m. We're meeting at Baker Ranch (The Flying B) in Orange County (there will be an $8 fee for entry and parking). First we ride. It will be about 2 hours of fun trail riding with Pua and she'll give tips on training and riding for endurance. Second, around 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., we eat. Then we have some more fun and begin the auctioning for all the cool products to help her get to Whistler. There will also be music and fun games with lots of prizes.

We are making it a potluck night so please bring a dish to share. The drinks (soda, beer and water) will be provided.

It has been a big year for Pua and you can help with the finale. She has a great chance at taking it if we make it there. Pua will make you proud!

Thanks,

Ron Sawicki
