APRIL 7--MIDWEST SINGLETRACK SUMMIT THIS WEEKEND

For 2005 the Gateway Off Road Cyclists (GORC) are hosting the Singletrack Summit at Klondike Park in St. Charles County, home to some of the tastiest riding in the St. Louis area. The Summit is going to be a great place to learn the latest trail building and club building techniques from GORC, The Ozark Trail Association, and IMBA. The Summit will provide a forum for these like-minded groups to exchange ideas, develop action plans and create solutions, all geared toward enhancing the outdoor experience and increasing the number of singletrack trails throughout the Midwest.

Continues GORC, "And because all work and no play just isn't that fun, we'll also have Saturday jam-packed full of demo rides on great 2005 bikes from Gary Fisher, Trek, Specialized, Kona, Salsa, and others. Saturday night we'll have bikes, beer and bands with our New Belgium Brewing Fat Tire Bash. There's going to be a great lineup of music, and night riding on the trails of Klondike Park."

There's a Saturday night time trial. Sunday features the Klondike Gold Rush mountain bike race.

Race info is at http://www.gorctrails.com/summit/race.asp.
