AMGEN-SCARYFAST SANTA CROSS

U.S. Master Women #2 Dorothy Wong drops us a note reminding us about the final SoCal Cyclocross. It's the Amgen-Scaryfast Santa Cross on Sunday, December 18, 2005. It's on the same Pierce College circuit in Woodland Hills, CA that Lance Armstrong made a surprise visit to last year. (He won after dicing it out with Santa Number One, aka U.S. Master #3 Mark Noble.) Like last year, plan on a huge showing of SoCal mountain bike racers to attend.

Here's Dorothy's note:

The SoCal Cyclocross Series wraps after 12 weeks of racing with its final event on December 18. It's the Amgen-Scaryfast Santa Cross race at Pierce College in Woodland Hills. Racers will be treated to a newly designed course this year with lots of rolling terrain, at least one run up; super fast and fun... Not to mention a great spectator course! Racing will be held rain or shine, though it looks like Santa will bring sunshine and blue skies once again. All juniors race free with a valid USA Cycling license.

At 12 noon, Sharky's Woodfired Grill will be hosting a taco lunch for the racers and spectators. Jazz and bluesy Christmas music from the Kathryn Grimm Band will serenade racers around the course.

This is also your last chance to be automatically entered into the drawing to win a 2005 Redline Conquest Pro CX Bike (retail value $1,499) when you pre-register at www.SportsbaseOnline.com by Friday, 12/16 (11 p.m. PST). The bike will be awarded after the racing concludes Sunday.

Series final awards will be handed out to the top 6 in each of our 10 SoCal CX categories. The first annual, InCycle Ali team competition awards will be handed out to the top 3 cyclocross teams in Southern California. Who will win the inaugural InCycle Ali Grail?

Come and race or ride over, have some lunch, watch the racing and enter our benefit drawings. Don't miss out! Over $20,000 in cash and prizes will be given away for the overall series prizes and benefit drawings for the Lance Armstrong Foundation and the Chance Noble Fund as he races for the U.S. Junior Team in the hopes to represent at the World Championships in late January.

BENEFIT DRAWINGS WILL INCLUDE:
*Kelly Knobby X Single Speed Frame and fork - $1,200 value.

*Redline Conquest Pro demo bike (choose from 4 available) - $1,500 value.

*Warner Springs Vacation - $750 value

*Alpha Q Carbon CX - $500 value

(2) Ritchey Pro Wheelsets - $400 value each ($800)

Saris Bike Rack - $150 value

Cycle-ops Fluid Trainer - $300

Plus many more items!
