Race Face team rider and freeride legend Darren Bearclaw has pulled out all the stops again! At this year's Adidas Slopestyle The Claw defended his title and collecting a check for 4000 Euros after thrilling the crowd by launching One-Footers, 360s, No Foot Can Cans and his trademark Superman Seat Grabs.
Bearclaw's outstanding efforts earned him the highest overall score of the competition as he aired it out over the course's combination of big mountain drops, dirt jumps and style elements, including a giant yellow dump truck and slanted wallrides.
"I'm stoked man," said Bearclaw after his victory. "To win the Slopestyle 2 years in a row with such a top class field means a lot to me."
Paul Basagoitia's labors gave him the second highest overall score of the competition and a check for 3000 Euros, as he styled it with a variety of tricks including Backflips, 360s, Barrel Roles and Super Man Seat Grabs. Paul is set to have another standout year and looks to challenge Bearclaw throughout all the major events of this season.
The field at the third Adidas Slopestyle event was comprised of all the stars from the global freeride scene, including Cedric Gracia, Aaron Chase, Geoff Gulevich and Kyle Strait. It meant stiff competition for the athletes and jaw-dropping tricks for the spectators.
The next major competition for the Race Face team is the Red Bull District Ride 1 on July 14 to 16, at Catania in Italy.
