magazine and Mercedes-Benz held a competition for business owners to submit information on why their company deserves a new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van
and $10,000 to trick it out. That was it. Only one prize. No second place.
Bob Weber and Robert Reisinger of 6D Helmets
entered the contest explaining how they plan to shake up the motorsports helmet business with their Omni-Directional Suspension Technology. You may recognize the Reisinger
name as the man who founded Mountain Cycle. Yes, that is the same mad scientist who introduced the Mountain Cycle San Andreas to the world of mountain bikers and forever changed the way designers think about mountain bikes.
Sorry, we got a bit off track here. Long story short, out of thousands of entries, 6D Helmets came out on top. Congratulations guys. Now get a mountain bike helmet going.
Bob (left) and Robert are the big winners. Bob says 6D is interested in developing a mountain bike helmet, but it would not be a "lightened" version of their motorsports helmet. Expect a totally new helmet to address the needs of mountain bikers.
