$200 BIERMAN BOUNTY
Over the past four Winter Series events, the average winning Super D time has been 7:02.69. Each win has been posted by former expert downhiller and current 27-34 expert cross-country rider Eric Bierman. Eric's average winning margin? A whopping 42.4 seconds. On a 2.5 mile course that is huge.
Because of the giant winning margins, Eric along with friend and 27-34 XC sport Casey Maze have decided to put up a $200 bounty for this weekend. The fastest Super D rider at Southridge this Sunday will nab the entire stack of cash. All you have to do is beat Eric Bierman. And if you do, Eric and Casey will pay you right there on the podium.
$200 BV BIKES/SRC FAST TIME TREASURE
Semipro racer and Bear Valley Bike's owner Derek Hermon wants to see more top riders racing at Southridge. "So I decided to pump it up a little," says Derek. "I spoke it over with promoter Don Jackson and he said if I put up $100 he would match it." This Sunday at Southridge the fastest 3 lap XC rider will earn the $200 Fast Time Treasure. That means that all 55 & under experts, semipros and pros are racing for $200.
Of all the top riders who have showed up to race the Winter Series XC, U.S. National 40-44 Champ Johnny O'Mara is the only one who has been at every event so far. Johnny has been the fastest 3 lap XC rider at two of the four events. The other two have been won by Canadian National Champ Ricky Federau and U.S. National Semipro Champ Sean Donovan. Now you know who you have to beat to earn $200.
