The 24 Hours of Orange County Course will be open for pre-riding Sunday, May 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be a $5.00 charge per car to enter the Flying B Mountain Bike Ranch. You do not have to be registered in the 24 hour event to ride the course.
The next open riding session will be held on Saturday, May 27 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The course is 6.3 miles long with 1,342 feet of total elevation gain per lap. In the coming weeks Doug at Geoladders.com will be posting a walk through of the course, as well as a satellite picture of the layout. We estimate it will take expert riders around 35 to 40 minutes (when fresh) to complete a lap.
We already completed one new short singletrack for the event and will be building another along with a bridge over the creek on the back side of the course. If you would like to assist in their building we will be having trail build days from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 16 and Thursday, May 18. Dinner will be provided after the work. Those volunteering will participate in our volunteer event in December and be allowed access to pre-ride the 24 Hour course during private practice sessions held during the week.
