We arrived in Northern California this morning for the 2012 Specialized Global Product Launch. The day started off at Specialized head quarters in Morgan Hill for a brief tour and some killer burritos. Then, loaded up in a van and headed down to Monterey, where the product launch is being held. So far we've only seen the tip of the iceberg. Check out some of the fresh produce.

Specialized new downhill rig the 2012 Status, undergoing in-house testing at the Morgan Hill facility.

A close up of the 2012 Status's rear linkage. The Status does not replace the infamous Demo line, it's targeted to privateer riders who are on a budget.

The 2012 Enduro line-up has now adopted the popular 142mm rear axle spacing, which is aimed to increase strength and stiffness.

Look closely, it's not just a pretty "foxy" Fox Shox with Brain and Kashima technologies. The shock on the new 2012 Stumpjumper FSR features AutoSag, which Specialized claims will simplify suspension setup. It actually seems quite simple. How it works: 1) Air up the shock approximately 50lbs over recommended rider weight. 2) Sit on the bike with all your riding gear. 3) Depress the AutoSag button and the system will bleed air out until the positive and negative air chambers are equal. This sets the correct amount of sag. It seems pretty cool. We can't wait to ride it and see how it performs.
