$1699 (Frame and shock)
27.9 pounds
5.5 inches of rear wheel travel
Tomac, (402) 403-0082
Full test: November 2007 (Click here to order this issue)

Highlights: The Snyper's rear suspension is a single-pivot design with a forged aluminum rocker link between the shock and carbon fiber seat stays to increase the rear end's rigidity. Proprietary, oversized aluminum hardware is used for all the pivots. The main frame is aluminum and our test bike was adorned with so many goodies that we have to believe that Johnny T ordered the parts himself.

Best quote: "There is a technical term for the way the Snyper responds to rocks, roots, ruts and bumps. Wow! Okay, that's not technical but that is how the Snyper rider feels after their first encounter with truly nasty terrain. The custom-tuned shock and fork steal the show."

Bottom line: The Tomac Snyper 140 joins a very elite trailbike trio that has made an undeniable impression on the MBA wrecking crew. This trio consists of the Santa Cruz Heckler (MBA April 2007), Foes 2:1 XCT 4 (MBA July 2007) and now the Tomac Snyper 140. These three bikes allow any rider to reach their maximum potential on the descents with predictable handling, linear suspension curves and a bottomless feel that kicks in when you need it the most.
